Interesting read hmm - I had this question posed by my daughter this week and they were looking at moving from dialup (yes dialup) to broadband however the best deal over at Actrix for 3GB for $29.95 is still more than the family and most people want to pay. By the time you add calls etc most people are paying around $100.00 a month (I’m round the $150 mark). Our Teleco's need to start offering better plans as why is a home line charge so expensive when we dont really make calls?

Also congrats to Actrix as they have the cleanest, simplest sign me for internet out of all the big players. I recommended my daughter to use Actrix or stick with Telecom as they are outside of Auckland.

Cool so the spectrum will be between 694 MHz and 802 MHz for new uses. As XT is on 850 / 2100 and Voda on 2100 / 900 I wonder what this means? Looks like newer handsets and devices coming up in the foreseeable future.

I think this is great! Even with the standard version of Facebook it's really annoying to try and find "Events" for example.
With this it's right there as a menu option. Well done facebook

Hmm thats interesting considering Nokia is pushing the likes of the N97 as a combined phone and "mobile computer". One could take it as a signe that to do more you need a neetbook! I have a netbook at home that replaced my gaming machine to surf the net and to do my daily blog posts till I got the iPhone and nearly all my web stuff is now done on the iPhone. Nokia really need a newer update for their smartphones to compete with the likes of the iPhone. Plus the netbook space is rather crowded so will be interesting to see how it goes up against the likes of the dell 10 - 12 netbooks running internal 3G cvhips.

Great to hear that last week Vodafone New Zealand is already trialling 21.1Mbit/s HSPA Plus technology.
